IF YOU CONCEIVE IT – I WILL BUILD IT
Do you have a great idea for a fabulous “one-of-a-kind” drum??
My specialty is building “one-of-a-kind” drums for people who want the unusual.
If you want something really “out there” – like a 9′ bass drum, or a drum set that opens up so that you can pack all of your drums into each other, (or maybe even square-shell drums?), then call me and we will talk.
Below is a drum set I built for big-band jazz drumming; thin shells, deep bass drum, and wood hoops. The photo below the drum set shows the 6′ bass drum I built for Harvard University. Finally, the picture on the bottom is the world’s largest marching band bass drum that I built for the University of Missouri.
BIG MO – THE WORLD’S LARGEST MARCHING BAND BASS DRUM
ABOUT BUILDING LARGE DRUMS
- shells made from fiberglass – will last 100 years or more!
- American made lugs from aircraft-quality aluminum with Helicoil inserts. If the lug ever strips, you don’t replace the lug, you replace the $2 Helicoil!
- REMO heads
- All American parts – These big drums will last more years than I can guarantee, because they will certainly outlast me! Also, using American parts keeps Americans working and American dollars in our country. note: Lugs for the Harvard and Missouri drums were built by Clay Lovejoy of Bottoms Associates in Barnesville, GA
